The world is full of initialisms and acronyms. There have been times I’ve sat in a meeting and heard an initialism that I didn’t know, yet was too self-conscious to ask. I was at a writer’s workshop the first time I heard AA referred to for copy editing. I got online and looked it up during the meeting. It’s authors alteration. I didn’t have to embarrass myself by asking! What acronym has left you staring at your feet?
