At TKO, we believe it’s our corporate responsibility to give back, to give thanks, but there’s more to it — we enjoy it. It’s fulfilling, and we often receive tenfold what we’ve given. Whether it’s the joy of helping someone in need, donating to orgs committed to curing life-threatening conditions, or giving someone a boost that makes THE difference, it’s more than enough return for our effort. An organization’s culture is partially defined by their charitable contributions — who they are, is what they give.

We’ve listed a few organizations we’re passionate about helping. However, there are many deserving charities. If you already give back, you know it’s a wonderful thing for your corporate culture. If you don’t give back, we recommend finding a charitable mission your company can rally around — you will receive much more than you give. The ROI of building a team around charitable events includes less turnover, happier/more dedicated employees, and the aligning of your brand with positive opportunities.

Where to Give Thanks

The Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana — The Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana (DYFI) was formed in 1989 to support, educate, and to encourage children and teens with Type 1 diabetes. The non-profit organization helps hundreds of children and teens every year through a summer residential camping program, family camp weekends, day camps for children ages 5-8, and through teen adventure trips and weekends. For several years, TKO Graphix has sponsored an annual Gong Show with all proceeds contributed to the foundation. The event is traditionally the first Saturday in May and features a fun amateur talent contest.

Relay For Life Plainfield, IN — TKO has been involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for the past five years. The 2012 Relay will be held at the Metropolis Mall, in Plainfield, on June 23rd and 24th. Please join us, sponsor, form a team, or donate.

Salvation Army Indiana Division — TKO has been involved with several SA initiatives, including the WISH Tree Toy Drive and Lending A Helping Glove. The Salvation Army offers hundreds of charitable opportunities.

Indiana Blood Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to: “Providing a continuous, safe and adequate supply of blood products and biological services first to people of our own communities, then wherever our blood products and biological services are needed.” Join TKO in February for the blood drive at our location or schedule your own.

Back Pack Attack collects school supplies for children in Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), as well as schools in Marion, Boone, Hancock and Hendricks counties. In 2011, enough supplies were collected to serve 35,904 students. TKO was proud to participate for the first time this year.

Give Back Give Thanks

We recommend these organizations to anyone, but what’s important isn’t which worthy group you support — it’s that you support a worthy group. Do you and your organization give thanks?
