This Christmas, we were privileged to participated in the Salvation Army WISH Tree Toy Drive for the third consecutive year. The Christmas initiative targets people who are often missed by other holiday programs – working parents who are facing difficulties. To qualify, parents must be working or attending school. Last year, the Salvation Army helped nearly 9,000 children in the Indianapolis area. Our TKO employees participated by donating toys, a chili cook-off raised nearly $200, and our managers conducted a leaderless group exercise.

The Salvation Army does great work in Central Indiana and all over the world. According to their 2012 Annual Financial Report, because 82% of all funds go directly to initiatives. So, in 2012, they assisted 4,632,622 needy at Christmas, fed 57,283,281 meals, and lodged 9,931,634 homeless.

We are proud to be a small part of the great things this outstanding organization does. So, if you would like to help, your local chapter is usually looking for volunteers, or you can donate directly to the Salvation Army.
