THE CHALLENGE

Update brand without losing history
Horace Webb first installed cooling units in Fort Worth, TX in 1941. Today, Webb Air is still installing and servicing the Fort Worth area as a trusted, well known HVAC provider. After many years, and with a competitive market, they felt it was time for a rebrand. The challenge was to update the company’s image without losing their history. The rebrand was to include a new logo along with fleet vehicles and apparel. Webb Air wanted to improve their brand with a new look that honored their mid-century beginnings but at the same time was bold, new, and fresh.

THE SOLUTION

Create a fresh look with a vintage vibe
The TKO Graphix design team incorporated some of the design aspects of the existing brand. The team wanted to create a logo and fleet graphic that was fresh, but easily recognizable as Webb Air. Webb Air is known for their red service vehicles so that became an absolute of the design. Their traditional colors, red and blue with white accents were kept, but refreshed with more vintage shades of the colors. Next, the team chose fonts that would’ve looked right at home in the 1940’s. The design uses shapes and elements to create excitement with a swing era feel. The logo and graphics are modern yet support the origins of Webb Air.

THE OUTCOME

A company with an eye-catching yet recognizable brand
The final product met the challenge. The graphics are new and fresh, and there’s no doubt that it’s Webb Air. No one has to look twice at these vehicles to know who it is. It’s a great example of old meeting new—modern and retro. The best designers work hard at making a design look simple, and the best designs are elegant in their simplicity. The Webb Air graphics are an excellent example of understanding the culture of an organization and applying it to the look of their brand. Webb Air is excited about their new-old look.
