The American Cancer Society estimates there will be 1,685,210 new cases of cancer in America by the end of 2016. Of those cases, 595,690 will be fatal. — Cancer Facts and Figures 2016. Keep in mind these are new cases not preexisting. Cancer touches almost everyone, and if it hasn’t touched you, the chances are it will.

At TKO Graphix many of our employees have been touched by cancer. We asked team members if they’d like to share their story by answering a few questions. Here’s Nicks story.

What story would you like to share?

Of course, we have many stories. I will have to share the story of when we found out the cancer was gone. Imagine one day getting a call from a loved one saying they had cancer. I remember the exact moment. My heart sank to my stomach. It was almost as if everything I knew was flipped upside down. After many surgeries, tests and treatments, we finally got that all good. She is cancer free and has been now for almost four years. That was the best story, to know that we would have many more years to celebrate her life.

What does participating in Real Men Wear Pink mean to you? Our (TKO Graphix) active participation in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign is uplifting. It allows me to be filled with hope. We are putting in time and effort to make a difference.

What would you like to add?

I have an awesome set of colleagues. As I watch so many people participate and volunteer for all the fundraisers at work, it is inspirational. It is commendable to see so much compassion and support around this cause.
