So, are vehicle window graphics safe? The answer is if done correctly they are absolutely safe. Perforated window material is designed to cover glass areas with effective graphics. And at the same time avoid reduced driver visibility. According to 3M’s statement on its 3M Scotchal Perforated Window Graphics, “This 4-mil cast vinyl film allows a full image to be seen on the outside while allowing viewing through windows from the inside. A 50 percent perforation pattern enhances light transmission for a good balance of viewing through the window and image density as viewed from the outside.”
Are Vehicle Window Graphics legal?

How is Window Perf Constructed?
“Window perf is made in layers. The first (top) layer is the white vinyl that is printable, the next layer is black vinyl, followed by an adhesive coating and finally the release liner. The black layer acts as an optical illusion that allows clear visibility from behind the printed vinyl.” — Sign & Digital Graphics Magazine
