We like the MetroNet Bucket Truck wrap because it works and because MetroNet is a success story. Founded in 2005 in quiet Greencastle, Indiana, they’ve “…expanded into nearly 100 communities throughout Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio.” So, how does a company expand so far, so fast? I don’t know the whole story, but here’s what I do know.
What makes a business grow?
I’ve worked with several businesses that have shown tremendous growth over a relatively short time. For example, from 2010 to 2019, TKO Graphix experienced 400% growth. There’s a common thread between the companies I’ve watched grow exponentially, and it’s this. They have great products, outstanding customer service, and they take care of their employees.
For MetroNet, the product is fiber optics. The internet, TV, and phone service MetroNet offers are 100% fiber optics. Providing the best products available is an excellent place to start.
“At MetroNet, we are committed to bringing state-of-the-art telecommunication services to the communities we serve by delivering services comparable or superior to those offered in large metropolitan areas. This commitment not only means better internet, television, and telephone options for our customers today but also the capacity to continually provide additional products and services in the future as new uses for 100% fiber are developed. –” — About Metronet
Employees come first
Treat your employees great, and they will take care of your customers. You’ve heard it before, and I’ve seen it with every growth business I’ve worked with. I’ve seen the opposite as well. MetroNet takes care of their team. Glassdoor recognized MetroNet as one of the best places to work in 2020. “Unlike other awards, there is no self-nomination or application process. Instead, it’s entirely based on the feedback our associates have voluntarily and anonymously shared on Glassdoor.” Here’s an example.
“I am new to MetroNet after working for a very large Tele-Communications company for nearly 20 years. Working with MetroNet is very refreshing. The company is rapidly growing and expanding its services to new markets. My co-workers are fantastic! From support roles to management and engineering, everyone I have encountered puts the customer first and is not afraid to take risks if it means helping the business grow. I see myself being very successful here and enjoying a long career selling awesome service!” — Glassdoor – Best Places to Work 2020
The MetroNet Bucket Truck Wrap
The MetroNet bucket truck wrap is an excellent example of following one of the primary rules of a successful fleet graphics. Match the brand. An effective fleet graphic is immediately recognizable as belonging to the brand. It’s part of a full brand unification. So, if you check out MetroNet’s website Metronetinc.com, their Facebook page MetroNetFiber and Twitter account MetroNet Fiber, you’ll find the same colors, fonts, and logos that you see on the truck.
We like how the boom becomes a CTA (Call to action) with “Fiber Optic internet, RV and Phone (white font) UPGRADE TODAY (green font).” The website is easy to find on the door of the truck. The company name and logo stand out with good color contrast and are big enough to be seen from 40-50 feet away or more, and recognizable at 65 MPH. No matter how well-designed a fleet graphic is, if it’s not big enough to be recognized, it doesn’t work. This fleet graphic works.
