Have you watched Mecum Auto Auction on TV? They specialize in rare, antique, and custom cars. My wife, who participates in sanctioned events in her classic Corvair, loves to watch the auction. And I get a kick out the many muscle cars on the auction block. Because they’re the cars I grew up with. The Mecum Auto Auction is captivating, and the Mecum Auto Auction trailer, which TKO Graphix was privileged to wrap is as well.
The Mecum Auto Auction Trailer Wrap
TKO Graphix printed the warp for this 53-foot trailer on our Hewitt Packard Scitex TJ3800 Turbo Digital Printer. This printer allows us to print graphics in great detail with multiple images, fonts, and colors and get the job done when it’s needed. We used Avery 1305 adhesive vinyl material, and the print was clear coated for protection.
The Installation
TKO has more than 100 certified adhesive vinyl graphic applicators. Our team of experts pays attention to every detail. At any given time four to six installers worked on the trailer. So, wrapping even the smallest part of the trailer was given particular attention. For example, the hinges were wrapped laying the graphics on the hinge, so it was an integral component of the design. The same was done with door frames, railings, and rivets.
The Design
The trailer graphic is an outstanding design provided by Mecum. TKO designs the majority of the wraps we produce and install. Occasionally we offer our help and advice to those who submit designs and sometimes we need to correct the formatting. It’s a pleasure to work with a team, such as Mecum, who understand vehicle graphic design.
