What are Step and Repeat Banners?
A friend called the other day and asked if we could, “Make one of those backdrop thingies that are made up of logos, you know, kinda in a diagonal pattern? The kind where people stand in front of it so they can take photos.” He wanted it for a company event. I told him sure thing; they’re called step and repeat banners.
Why Step and Repeat Banners Work
We’ve all seen step and repeat banners at large and even small events. Usually, they’re set up to be used as a backdrop for photographs but not always; they can be used for advertising displays or press conferences.
A quick search on Wikipedia gives us a little more detailed description, “A step and repeat banner (sometimes a step and repeat wall or press wall) is a publicity backdrop used primarily for event photography, printed with a repeating pattern such that brand logos or emblems are visible in photographs of the individuals standing in front of it. Step and repeat banners are common fixtures of red carpet, fashion events, or custom-printed for weddings or galas in order to give a more “celebrity-like” feel to attendees’ photos.
Another version of the press wall is often seen in professional and college/university sports, where the same type of background with sponsor or team logos is utilized as the background for a press conference within a team’s media room or visitor’s locker room, which can be a piece of material where logos rotate behind the speaker every few seconds, providing multiple advertisers promotional opportunities.”
Step and Repeat Banners Make Eye-Catching Displays
Since step and repeat banners have a repetitive graphic, the entire banner can displayed or any part of it, and the message is still delivered. This makes them ideal for displaying multiple corporate logos who have partnered or sponsoring the event. We offer a couple ways of producing your step and repeat banners.
1. Digitally printed on vinyl banner material.
2. Heavy knit fabric using a dye sublimation print process. The fabric is used to reduce glare from intense event lighting.
They’re Easy to Use
Step and repeat banners can be hung on any surface large enough to hold them or they can be attached to metal banner frames. These banner frames are easy to set up, tear down, and store. Plus, they include a convenient carrying case to make it easy to transport the step and repeat banners to your event. The most common sizes of step and repeat banners we provide are 7.5′ x 8′ and 7.5′ x 10′. These sizes make great backdrops for several people; usually 4-6 people.
They Have Multiple Uses
