Why You Should Listen to Your Creative Vehicle Graphics Designer

If your vehicle graphics provider is reputable and has a well-trained, experienced team, then please listen to your creative vehicle graphics designer. They know what they’re doing, and they have your best interest in mind for your project.

They Design for Real-Life

There’s graphic design, and then there’s vehicle graphic design. Many experienced designers have learned this the hard way when they’ve tried to design a vehicle wrap only to discover it wouldn’t work.

I’ve told this story before, but it clarifies what I mean by the differences in designing graphics for a vehicle versus an ad for a magazine. A well-known national company was considering sponsoring an Indy Car. Its product was packaged in a familiar bottle, so the company hired an ad agency to create an image of their bottle on the nose of the race car.

Unfortunately, there was one huge problem. The created design did not consider all the curves and breaks on the real race car, only that it looked good on the computer screen. In real life, the design wasn’t producible. If the decal had been applied to the Indy Car, it would have been a disaster. The ad agency nor their customer would have been happy with the result. Fortunately, our experienced vehicle graphic designers immediately realized the issue and were able to adjust the design to be produced and installed properly.

They Want You to LOVE the End Result

For more than a decade, I’ve worked with some of the most professional and experienced vehicle graphic designers in the nation. My experience may be limited because I’ve only worked with one provider. However, I’ve met other professional designers over the years, and one of the commonalities is that the customer comes first. They want to make you happy!

Vehicle graphic designers want you to love the end result and be excited about driving around to promote your business. They want you to keep coming back, and along the way, they want you to say good things about them and the company to your friends and business acquaintances. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

They Help Limit Big Mistakes

A few years ago, a customer changed its branding. Part of their rebrand was dropping the full name of the organization and adopting a new logo using the name’s initials. Unfortunately, the initials created a vulgar slang term that is commonly known. (Nope, not gonna tell you.) Our designer reached out to their marketing team with the information. Although, it didn’t stop them at the time, eventually the organization’s senior leadership realized their mistake…BIG Branding Mistake.

They Know How to Grab Attention

Designing a wrap for a vehicle isn’t only about creating a 3-D design (although that’s a big part of it.) It’s about designing a graphic that will capture attention without being too busy. A good design shares the message of the organization it represents and fits the culture. Vehicle graphic design isn’t one size fits all; it’s one size fits your business.

Vehicle graphic design isn’t one size fits all; it’s one size fits your business.

Before setting the vehicle graphic design hierarchy in order, an organization must consider what message takes precedence. What do you want to communicate? What do you want people to understand about your business?

Think about how many ads you’re bombarded with every day. Studies show that most people are exposed to more than 4,000 ads per day. TV, radio, print, billboards, and vehicle graphics surround us. It’s not easy to stand out in all that competition, but a creative vehicle graphics designer can help capture viewer’s attention on the road.

Vehicle graphics, when used properly, are an effective marketing tool to advertise your business and stand out from the crowd. The biggest and best, in almost any industry, advertise on their fleet of vehicles or trailers. They usually have more than simple identification, including company logos, fonts, colors, taglines, contact information, and calls to action. When consumers see these vehicles, they immediately know who they are because they identify with the branding.

If You Don’t Listen to Your Creative Vehicle Graphics Designer – It’s on you

Not heeding the advice of your creative vehicle graphics designer seldom comes out good for the customer. Designers have your best interest in mind. They know what they’re doing, and they can help you avoid mistakes.

The next time a designer says to you, “Yes, we could do that, but I have another idea.” PAY ATTENTION.
