We’ve had the privilege of working with various fire and police departments over the years. The above photo features one of our latest, the Plainfield Fire Territory fire truck graphics. According to their site, PFT “provides fire protection, emergency medical, hazardous materials response, technical rescue and fire prevention services to the Southeast corner of Hendricks County.”

Special Materials

Because fire truck graphics may include chevrons on rear surfaces, 911, slogans, vehicle numbers, and department insignias, the design is specialized. Materials can be reflective, 22K gold, and an assortment of colors (not all fire trucks are red).

What is a Fire Truck?

The photo shows four fire “trucks” — but what is a fire truck? Historically, pump trucks were called “fire trucks.” But today, there are many types of fire vehicles. These include pumpers, ladder or aerial trucks, rescue vehicles, hazmat, crash, emergency, municipal vehicles and more. So, can you identify the four types of fire trucks in the photo?
