Bill is the Director of Installation Operations and has been with TKO for 19 years.

Why do you Work at TKO?

[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]I started working here 19 years ago, 2 years after graduating from High School and still not knowing what I was wanting in a career. I was between jobs at the time and was struggling to make ends meet. I couldn’t afford college nor did I want to put money into something that I had no idea what I wanted out of it. Talking to a neighbor at the time (who was in a similar situation) he mentioned TKO Graphix and that they were hiring installers, so I applied, was interviewed the same day, and started the next. I guess you could say the rest is history but that wouldn’t answer the original question as to why I work here. I work here because TKO took a chance on a young energetic man that was lost and gave him direction. I was very fortunate to be hired by a young company that was posed for big things. For the first time in my young life I saw opportunity and seized it and have had the opportunity to grow with a very successful company that is based around teamwork and pride.[/testimonial][/testimonials]

What’s Your Funniest Work Story?

[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]I have seen some pretty funny things over the years, especially with my fellow installers. You could say we like to have a little fun and play pranks on each other, some things that I cannot even mention but would more than likely have you in tears from laughing so hard. There was one incident I remember like it was yesterday and it happened about 16 years ago when we started producing mass quantities of yard signs for a customer. We had thousands of signs to install individual agents on them, so we set the job up like an assembly line so we could get them done as efficient as we could. I was working across the table from an installer that had been here longer then me and was an experienced veteran. We were competitive and liked to outdo each other so we would see who could get their stack done first. To be more efficient he would put the end of his grease pencil in his mouth so he knew where it was every time he needed to make a mark (which was about every 30 seconds). What he didn’t know is that I had shaved enough of the end of the grease pencil off that the grease in the pencil was exposed every time he stuck it in his mouth. We were installing signs neck in neck both stacks getting shorter by the minute. Needless to say he did beat me by a few signs and when he did, he slammed his hand down on the table and looked at me smiling from ear to ear with nothing but pride and triumph. But to me he looked like he was missing half his teeth because of all the grease that had gotten all over his teeth. I laughed so hard I couldn’t catch my breath.

What are Your Hobbies and Interests?

[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]I love being with my family, my 4 daughters and wife keep me pretty busy. I have 2 dogs that I adore (both males, helps even out all the estrogen in the house). I coach softball in the spring usually for one of my daughter’s teams. Playing board games with the family (we are a competitive bunch), video gaming with the daughters (wife’s not big into that) but they have gotten so good that it is hard for me to defeat them. Outside of that I enjoy golfing, reading, and playing fantasy sports.
