TKO Team Talk is a chance to get to know us—one team member at a time. It’s a glimpse behind the curtain. In this series, we ask individual teammates four questions. The questions are designed to share insights into the family of TKO companies and reveal a little about the people behind the brand.
I’ve been employed at TKO Graphix for five years as Director of Communications.
Why do you Work at TKO?

[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]How much time do we have? Before TKO, I spent several years in a position I grew to dislike. I worked six or seven days a week, and more than 70 hours per week. But the larger picture was that I no longer enjoyed what I was doing. It wasn’t fair to the organization or my family. I left that position. I found TKO as an independent consultant in 2008 and joined the team two years later. Today, I’m privileged to do work I enjoy, with a team I like and respect.[/testimonial][/testimonials]
What’s Your Funniest Work Story?
[testimonials backgroundcolor=”” textcolor=”” class=”” id=””]
[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]I have a tendency to transpose letters in wrods (see what I did?) A few Christmases ago I posted an interoffice flyer about the Salvation Army Angel Tree toy drive…except I spelled angel as angle. A few days later I brought an orange triangular angle wrapped in tinsel and waited for someone to ask me about it. It was my Christmas Angle!

What are Your Hobbies and Interests?
[testimonials backgroundcolor=”” textcolor=”” class=”” id=””]
[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]I stay busy. I perform in a weekend Rock & Roll band, flower gardening, reading and writing fiction, and more. Like I said I stay busy.

What would you like to add?
[testimonials backgroundcolor=”” textcolor=”” class=”” id=””]
[testimonial name=” ” avatar=”male” image=”” company=”” link=”” target=”_self”]Life is an ongoing lesson, learning should never end, and we should continue to strive to be better people. It’s more important to find work you love than chase the dollar. That only took me 30 years to learn. By reinventing myself, I was put in a position to grow, learn, and improve. I’d suggest it for all y’all.

Very cool! Have you published any fiction anywhere?
I haven’t. I recently joined a writers group and have been honing my skills. It’s funny, I write so many blogs it’s like second nature to research-write-edit-publish, but when it comes to fiction I obsess over rewrites.
I understand that. There’s no deadline and no money involved (yet), so you have the liberty/hinderance of being able to go over it 1 million times. It’s never ending because it’s never perfect, so nothing really moves forward.
Exactly. You seem to know this well. I’m guessing you write fiction as well?
Ha, I try to, but time is so limited that I don’t get to it very often, and I haven’t written anything in a couple years (when I entered grad school and things got busy). Mostly what I have now are many many many ideas and beginnings that are a few paragraphs at most.
What kind of fiction do you write?
Recently I’ve been working on stories with a (hopefully) surprise hook. I’ve surprised myself that the four I have so far, and a few more that are outlined, are rather dark and moody.
Dark and moody sounds good to me! Are they short stories?
Yes sir they are.
Cool, I’d love to read them! If they’re available for public consumption that is :D
They’re not yet but you be a beta reader for me.
Hey I messaged you on LinkedIn, but I would love to be a beta reader for you. I sent you my email on LinkedIn
Thanks Adam.
