In 2008, Indianapolis — the world renowned capitol of racing — found itself without a motor sports trade show. An independent company was hired to determine if local and regional industries would support a show. Over 8,000 businesses were surveyed, and the answer was a resounding YES. Jeff Stoops, a local business man who has a long standing relationship with USAC, Chris Paulsen from C & R Racing, and Hoosier driver, owner, and track owner, Tony Stewart, formed IMIS (International Motor Industry Show). The first show was held in 2009, and the event has continued to grow at an astounding rate.
Why a Motorsports Show in Indy?
According to the IMIS website, their goal is — “To always provide the hardcore racer with the best tradeshow experience from our Opening Reception to great Exhibitors to the best Education from motorsports’ industry experts at the birthplace of racing, because Indy is Racing.™” Winners all!
Promotional products and racing are a winning combination. Lanyards, collectibles and apparel were among the thousands of racing promotional products displayed this year at IMIS.
