The TKO Graphix Care Crew is our volunteer team. Every month the Care Crew chooses a local charity to support. For example, we’ve held blood drives for the Indianapolis Blood Center.
We’ve supported the Salvation Army annual Angel Tree Toy Drive since 2010, Angel Tree Toy Drive.
We’ve rallied around Sheltering Wings: A Community in Action, organized a food drive, Help us Stamp Out Hunger, and more. But last month, August 2017 was special. We focused our energy on The Gathering Together.
Who is The Gathering Together?
“Rita Fiorentino traveled from San Francisco with a vision—a vision that manifested itself in 2002 when she founded The Gathering Together in Plainfield, Indiana.
A loved one’s decline in health always presents challenges, and sometimes it creates demands that families do not feel prepared to handle. That’s where The Gathering Together comes in.
We provide care, nurturing and support for end-of-life guests and their families, bringing peace and assistance throughout a turbulent period. Our services come free of charge.
We also host numerous community involvement activities, including craft workshops, classes, gardening and support and bereavement groups.” — The Gathering Together
The Care Crew Plan
The Care Crew sponsored a bake sale and a soup cook off, which combined to raise more than $500, and then, Office Coordinator, Taylor Hurley, had a great idea. She suggested we promote a penny war between departments. The team with the most collected pennies, loose change, and dollars would win a White Castle crave case lunch. Taylor posted the standings weekly and created quite a buzz. When it was all said and done the collection jars (which were White Castle Crave case boxes!) totaled more than $1500! TKO Graphix matched the total and as you can see in the video we presented Rita with a check for more than $4,000. BTW, we decided every employee was a winner and served sliders to the entire staff.
The following week Rita sent us a card expressing how much she appreciated what we did and how it would help a guest who just arrived. It brought tears to my eyes. We hope you enjoy the video and please support your local charities. Thank you.
