Photo Blog Speedy Café Ford Transit Wrap

The Speedy Café Ford Transit wrap is enticing. When I first saw it, I didn’t know what it was about, but I wanted to know. And I wanted to know because the wrap is gorgeous, no, that’s not quite the word. It’s appealing, or better yet it’s alluring. I wanted to know what it was, and isn’t that a good thing for fleet advertising?

The Speedy Café Ford Transit Wrap

The colors on the wrap complement each other from the red pixelating into a deep garnet red. The Red and Dijon Mustard yellow swirls around the logo make the logo pop. Placing the tagline, “Fresh, Fast, Fun” obliquely with, “That’s How WE Roll” printed down the side captures attention. This is how to wrap a fleet vehicle, eye-grabbing while sending a message.

Lowman Transit Wrap: How do Fleet Graphics Benefit a Business?

What is the fleet graphics benefit? Why do Businesses place graphics on their vehicles? How do fleet graphics benefit a business?  When TKO Graphix was founded in 1985, vehicle graphics were primarily for vehicle identification: company name, address, and DOT numbers. But today the reason organizations use adhesive vinyl graphics is much more. It’s marketing.

How Do Vehicle Graphics Promote a Business? What is the Fleet Graphics Benefit?

  • Advertising – Vehicle graphics create 30,000 to 50,000 impressions per day, every day.
  • CTA (Call to Action) – Wraps and decals can be used to share special offers, contact information, and solutions to client problems. How to Create an Effective Vehicle Graphic Call to Action.
  • Build Brand – By sharing the same brand colors, logos, and taglines across multiple platforms, vehicles become part of the branding campaign.
  • Promote Products and Services – By listing services such as on-call 24-7, products, and USP’s (Unique Sales Position).
  • Establish Trust – What’s more important to a consumer than trust? Sharing time in business, associations, and credentials inspire confidence.
  • Create Interest – Whether a wrap shares an image of grass being mowed by a lawn care company or clothing being donated on the side of a Goodwill Industries 53 foot trailer, graphics can be used to pique interest.

The Lowman Wrap

So, how do the Lowman fleet graphics compare to the list above? The answer is they get an A+.  The desert backdrop creates interest and draws attention to the branded logo. The hierarchy of information leads the eye to the contact info, both phone and email, and then to the list of services. Trust is established through authorized Bryant logo and the fact that Lowman is nearing 70 years in business!

What Makes this Vehicle Graphic Stand Out?

Why does this vehicle graphic stand out?  The Marvin Johnson and Associates fleet graphics work, that much is obvious. But why does this vehicle wrap work? What makes this vehicle graphic stand out, and more importantly what mistakes does this design avoid?

What Makes this Vehicle Graphic Stand Out?

So, why does this vehicle graphic stand out? This full wrap is simple, deceptively so, purposely so. That doesn’t mean it was simple to design, just the opposite, creating a simple vehicle graphic design isn’t simple. Because making a vehicle graphic stand out when it competes every day with thousands of others isn’t easy.

The Road

The first thing that captures your attention is the road; blacktop, with a double yellow line, and white curbs curving into the distance. Looks easy, doesn’t it? However, change the perspective, angle, size, or shape only slightly, and it could look like the rendering of a third-grade art class assignment.

The Contrast

Did you notice the lettering for “Truck Insurance?” It begins in yellow, switches to white, and then back to yellow. One more thing, the yellow “T” is against a yellow background, which ordinarily would make it disappear—you’d be left with “ruck Insurance.” Instead, because it’s  outlined in black, the letters stand out, and “Truck” shadowed in black also show well.

The Message

The message is simple. It’s not overcrowded, attempting to share too much information and overloading everyone who views the vehicle. It’s simple—truck insurance, safety services, and the name of the organization.

Knott’s Fine Foods Truck Wrap: How to Wrap Rivets

This post is about how and why to wrap rivets. Let me tell you where it started. I met Terry Wells, the transportation manager for Knott’s Fine Foods, in the installation bay at TKO Graphix. He was there to pick up a 53-foot trailer we wrapped for his company. I introduced myself and asked him what he thought of the wrap. He was more than pleased. He was delighted. You see, he came to us after he’d had a less than happy experience with another provider. We know how to wrap rivets. The other provider didn’t.

A Happy Customer

Terry pointed to the rivets on the side of the trailer (there were hundreds of rivets) and said, “We choose TKO Graphix for our trailer wraps because the work another provider did three years ago is coming apart. See these rivets; the other people didn’t do a professional job like this (TKO Graphix work)” Here’s video of what Terry had to say, Knott’s Wholesale Foods Trailer Wrap

The Difference in a Professional Wrap

I discussed this with Terry, and he explained the previous vendor left what we call “tents” around the rivets. Terry even asked them about it, and they told him it would be okay. That’s not the truth. Tenting around rivets leads to problems. The trouble is dirt, and moisture gets behind or under the tent, which causes it to lose adhesion. Not only can it come off but it can cause the vinyl around the rivet to come loose as well.

How to Wrap Rivets

The proper way to wrap rivets is time-consuming and work-intensive, but there’s no way around it. After placing the adhesive vinyl, a rivet brush should be used to set the vinyl in place over the rivet. Next, installers use a knife or a hollow punch to slit around the rivet. Damage to a rivet, such as a scrape from a tree branch, only pulls the rivet graphic away isolating it from the rest of the wrap.

Who Is Knott’s Fine Foods?

“In 1947, in a small house on Curtis Street in Paris, Tennessee, a great idea was born. Cedric and Mildred Knott saw the opportunity to use Mildred’s personal recipes for salad spreads for making sandwiches, and deliver them to local businesses.

Cedric in his Kitchen in 1950

Over the last six and a half decades, Knott’s Fine Foods has evolved into a full-scale production facility and distribution center.  All the original products that were produced in Cedric and Mildred Knott’s kitchen are still made in Paris, Tennessee less than a mile from their original home on Curtis Street.   Over several years, the company and its territories have expanded. However, we remain a family owned and run business with the third generation of the Knott’s family at the helm.” — Knott’s Fine Foods About

The SG Smokehouse Trailer Wrap is Hot!

The SG (Southern Guys) Smokehouse trailer wrap is on fire, and shouldn’t it be? You can almost hear the flames crackle, and smell the smoke coming off of the sizzling meats. It kinda makes your mouth water, doesn’t it?

The Smokehouse Trailer Wrap

One thing is for certain, the Smokehouse trailer wrap captures attention and pleases the eye. How could anyone not look at this design? Add to that the well-placed copy, which hasn’t been overdone (a common mistake) and you have a master wrap for master chefs.

The tagline, “Bringing the South, to the West, with Southern Comfort Cuisine” says it all. Next on the hierarchy of the Smokehouse trailer wrap is contact information. Phone and web, and below that it states, “Veteran Owned and Operated.” TKO thanks the SG team for their service. All in all, this trailer is a delicious wrap.

Who is SG Smokehouse?

“Southern Guys’ Smokehouse uses as many local and organic ingredients, meats and produce as possible. Our meats are smoked with only the best and natural virgin hard-woods.

The Chef and Owner, Brandon Locklear, and his wife, Janet Locklear, are natives of North Carolina who transplanted to Colorado in 2006. After moving to Colorado, they began searching for authentic Southern cuisines, but never found any. Ultimately, they decided the best way to get that wholesome southern comfort food was to make it themselves.

We offer caterings for weddings, birthday parties, graduations, and every other occasion.” — About SG Smokehouse

…And the Menu

The SG Smokehouse menu is full of surprises. Because they cater events and parties the menu shares Meats by the Pound, examples include beef brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and whole smoked turkeys. They offer beverages by the gallon, and homemade sauces, as well as a wide selection of burgers and sandwiches. — SG Smokehouse Menu

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Van Wrap is a Winner!

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway van wrap brings back a lot of memories. My family moved to Indianapolis in 1961 when I was ten years old. I attended my first Indy 500 only a few years later. For more than 50 years I’ve held the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in awe. I’ve been to more than 50 races including Indianapolis 500’s, Brickyard 400’s, Grand Prix, motorcycles, and classic car events. I’ve ridden as my wife drove her 1966 Yenko Corvair around the track. IMS means a lot to me, and the IMS van wrap does too.

I can hear the cars on the track from my backyard. I live less than one mile from the Speedway. What’s all this have to do with vehicle graphics? Nothing, other than when I see the Indianapolis Motor Speedway logo being applied to a vehicle in our shop—it gives me goosebumps.

The Van Wrap

The graphic design is classic. There’s no need for over the top visual effects, they would distract from the message. It’s elegant in its simplicity, a black van with red and white contrasting accents. The IMS logo is placed prominently for all to see extending from the body to the rear window area. Chevrolet is easy to spot applied across the top of the windshield, and the red band running along the bottom of the vehicle is covered with icons and logos of IMS events held throughout the year. There is no doubt what this vehicle represents and its message.

The IMS holds more than racing events. It promotes concerts from top performers, a LPGA tournament, Indy Women in Tech September 7th – 9th.  And there’s even a light show during the Christmas holidays.

TKO Graphix, the IMS Van Wrap, and you

It’s a privilege to work with the IMS. There are only a handful of organizations in the world that are as well-known and revered as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Featured Customer: Harding Racing 88

The Harding Racing 88 is a winner! TKO Graphix has been privileged to work with the Harding Group for more than ten years. Over that time we’ve provided them with vehicle graphics, signage, and promotional products. But this year is different, this year is special. Because this year we’re excited to be working with Harding Racing.

The Harding Racing Story

Harding Racing has a long standing tradition with 18 years of collaboration between Harding Group and IMS. The relationship evolved over time to where they are today. Harding Racing has assembled a team of racing professionals to participate in the Indy Car Series. Harding Racing is part of Harding Group, a prominent local Indianapolis company that has conducted business in Indiana and surrounding states since 1960.” — Harding Racing

Mike Harding is a hands-on team owner who has put together an all-star team with Larry Curry as Team Manager and Director of Competition, and Al Unser Jr as Executive Consultant/Driver Coach. With rising star Gabby Chaves, behind the wheel of the Harding Racing 88.

Here are TKO Teammates Azure and Sheila with Little Al.

Who is Gabby Chaves?

“At the age of twenty-three, Gabby Chaves has made a name for himself by winning races and challenging for championship titles. The well-liked and respected Chaves began his racing career at the age of thirteen and has won three championships (Formula BMW Pacific, Formula BMW Americas, and Indy Lights), and two Rookie of the Year awards (2015 Sunoco Indianapolis 500, and 2015 Verizon Indy Car Series).” — Harding Racing Gabby Chaves

TKO Graphix and Harding Racing 88

May has been a fun month for TKO Graphix. We’re race fans. We’ve wrapped race cars in several series for many years. We even wrapped the Indy 500 winner a few years ago, but like I said, this year is special because our friends at Harding Racing are in the Indy 500. Our organization has more than 100 employee installers, but guess who’s been at the Harding Racing Indy Car Garage installing graphics? It’s TKO Graphix President, Tom Taulman. He’s a race fan too.

“The Verizon Indy Car Series is the fastest and most innovative form of motorsports in North America. INDYCAR is the featured racing series in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” – The Indianapolis 500 – which will run it’s 101st event on May 28, 2017.”

Harding Racing has assembled a team of highly successful racing professionals to participate in the Verizon Indy Car Series. The team is comprised of members that have won multiple pole position awards, race wins, and championships.” — Behind the Scenes

Here’s some of what we’ve done for Harding Racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Yard signs, the interior of IMS Harding Racing Garage, and  exterior of Harding Racing IMS Garage.

Start Your Engines! If you see us at the track you know we’ll be rooting for number 88, wearing our Harding Racing Team apparel with the TKO Graphix logo. We couldn’t be prouder.

This Eye-opening Wildman Uniform 53-foot Trailer Wrap Works

The Wildman Uniform and Linen 53-foot trailer wrap is not only effective it’s attractive, and that’s a great combination.

What Makes this Wildman Uniform Wrap Work?

What makes this Wildman Uniform wrap work? The simplicity of the design makes it work, because keeping it simple helps project the message of professionalism. While maintaining an elegance that is pleasing to the eye.

The Wildman Uniform logo is used in prominent positions both side and rear, and you might have noticed the “W” in the logo is white against a blue background on the side of the trailer, while blue with a silver background on the rear. The color contrast was used because it shows up, and shows up well.

Just below the logo the copy succinctly shares what Wildman Uniform does—Uniforms and Linens. Next, it’s easy to find the contact information. Contact information shouldn’t be something consumers have to search for.  Add to that the vibrant blue ending in a lighter shade swoop followed by white, and you have a trailer that works.

What Does Wildman Uniform and Linen Offer?

“We provide image, professionalism, quality, consistency, and value through our uniform rental programs, linen supply solutions, and walk off mat protection systems, restroom supply, and environmental recycling of rags, absorbents, and PPE products. A lot has changed in the last 60 years, and Wildman has been on the forefront of those changes. Uniforms and linen are personal, and we make it personal by listening to you, our customer. With this philosophy, we continuously reinvest in our state of the art production facility and our people. This has led to substantial differences in how we approach the textile rental market.” — Wildman Unifom.com

Wildman Uniform and Linen Customer Guarantee

  • All rental item picked up on the regular scheduled day will be returned on the next regular delivery day
  • Every garment will be inspected and repaired when needed.
  • Every add man requesting standard size and color received on a regular delivery day will be delivered in one week.
  • Everyone will be individually measured to ensure proper fit during the route delivery period.
  • Failure to meet the guarantees contained herein warrant an adjustment equal to the specific amount of the non-performance.

And Our Point is….

You don’t have to go “Wild” to design, fabricate, and install powerful fleet graphics. Because a trailer wrap that captures attention, shares the primary message of what a company does, and then shows how to contact them, is the best possible design. So keep that in mind for your next fleet graphics, because going over the top may place your vehicle graphics on the bottom.

If you’d like us to come up with a few not so “Wild” ideas for your fleet graphics, Contact Us because we know how to make your fleet graphics stand out.

The Maddox Industrial Group Trailer Wrap Is Stunning

This trailer wrap breaks the rules and that’s what makes it an outstanding wrap. One of the design elements we talk about is keeping the message simple and uncluttered. A busy background can make the message difficult to understand. Avoid busy backgrounds and images that distract the eye from the message. The background of this trailer wrap is beyond busy, but it doesn’t detract from the message. Just the opposite, the background draws attention to the message. It adds to it and helps promote the cause. It works.

What Makes this Trailer Wrap Work?

The industrial background rather than taking away from the hierarchy of the message enhances it, but how? In particular, three aspects of the design accomplish this.

  1. A Simple Message

Had the message been multiple points cluttered against the background then the design would’ve failed. Too much copy and too many images would combine to create a vehicle graphic where the message was lost in confusion. The copy presented on every side of the trailer sticks with name and logo, tagline, phone number, and web address.

Maddox has a lot they could talk about. For example, the wrap could’ve shared the many things they do.

Full-Service Industrial Contractors

  • Industrial Mechanical
  • Piping Systems
  • Precision Millwright
  • & Rigging Services
  • Equipment Installations
  • Specialty Metal Fabrication
  • Maintenance Services
  • Design Build
  • Water & Wastewater
  • Treatment Systems
  • Steel Fabrication
  • & Installation
  • Industrial Electrical
  • & Process Controls

Adding all of this to the wrap would be a major distraction.

  1. Excellent use of Color

The copy stands out against the industrial background to a large part because of the colors used for the copy: black, white, and a nearly fluorescent yellow contrast nicely with the gray color pallet of the industrial background image.

  1. Outlining and Shading

As good as the color contrast is, it didn’t pop. It didn’t stand out from the background. This was accomplished by outlining the letters, black letters were outlined in white, white in black, and yellow in black, and then shading (looks like shadows) was added to create an even more powerful three dimensional look.

Much of the credit for this design goes to TKO Graphix master designer Jamie Burch. MIG supplied images, the logo, and ideas. Jamie added the rest. My two favorite parts of the design are the drop shadows, and what Jamie calls the yellow “swoop” that runs from the top of the trailer to the bottom of the door.

The Ants Trucking graphics are clear. One of the most important considerations with fleet graphics especially on a 53-foot trailer is whether the brand is recognizable. Tractor-trailers are most often seen cruising the American highways at 55 MPH. Motorist only have moments to decipher the copy and images on the side of a trailer. The Ants Trucking graphics deliver their message in a matter of seconds.

Message Sent

Ants Trucking succeeds in sending its message and sharing their brand. It only takes one quick glance to realize this trailer is part of the Ants Trucking brand. The stylized ant logo makes it clear, and according to our customer service representatives, the ant is cute!

Tag This Line

The Ants Trucking tagline says it all, “One Call Hauls it All.” It’s a short and sweet tag that delivers. Besides that fact that we like rhymes, (it’s always time for a rhyme), this rhyme sticks in the mind, and that’s hard to find. Think about it. When you read this rhymed tag once, not only will you remember it, but the next time you need anything hauled who will you think of? I’ll bet Ants Tucking is on the list.
